Plan your visit

Here you can find practical information that may be helpful when you plan your visit.

Wardrobe

To avoid bumping into objects in the museum environment, it is not allowed to bring bags into the museum or carry jackets on your arm. There are lockers on the ground floor of the museum where you can secure your belongings. No coins are needed. Small bags are allowed inside.

Unfortunately, we do not have the facility to store suitcases. The nearest storage lockers are located at Stockholm Central Station. There are two sizes of lockers. The small locker is 27x34 centimeters, and the large one is 27x72 centimeters. Please note that there is a limited number of lockers available.

Studded shoes are not permitted in the museum

Studded shoes are not allowed indoors, as the old building floors are quickly worn down by the cleats.

Food and beverages

It is not allowed to bring food and beverages into the museum. If you wish to eat, you are warmly welcome to Hallwylska Restaurant and Bar, located in the museum courtyard, serving food and drinks. Hallwylska Restaurant closes during the fall and re-opens in the spring, with the exception of the Christmas buffet, and its daily opening hours may differ from the museum's opening hours. The restaurant offers a wide selection, including vegan options on the menu.

For menu details and opening hours, please visit the restaurant's website.

Accessibility

There is no elevator in the museum. To visit the exhibitions and join the guided tours you need to go up some stairs.

Folding chairs

In the museum's cloakroom, folding chairs are available to borrow during your visit.
