Live drawing

Draw from live models in historical costumes and be inspired by 19th-century evening wear. You will receive guidance and tips on drawing. Everyone is welcome, from beginners to experienced artists. Led by live drawing artist Juha Nyberg, in collaboration with Independent Kostym. Bring your own materials.

Talk: From 1860’s to 2020’s: recreating a historical gown

In late 2023, Susanne Brouwer, recent tailor graduate from the Meesteropleiding Coupeur in Amsterdam, visited the Hallwyl museum collection to study an 1865 custom made ball gown. As her graduation project, Susanne created a replica of Wilhelmina’s dress, combining research and craftsmanship in the process. What lessons can we learn from tailoring techniques and materials of the past? Join us in this talk with Susanne about her research and work+ Maria Franzon, conservator.

The talk will be held in English.

Explore the House!

Welcome to explore the Hallwyl Museum at your own pace! Discover the palace’s five floors, from the kitchen to the painting gallery. A unique opportunity to experience rooms that aren't usually open for all visitors.

Price: Included in the admission ticket. Free entry for children up to 19 years old.

Drop-in, no pre-booking required. Tickets can be purchased at the museum entrance.

House of Hallwyl

In a new music series, pianist Gustaf Henriksson brings house music to life on the grand piano at the Hallwyl Museum. Experience pulsating beats as he interprets iconic melodies by Avicii, Swedish House Mafia, and Coldplay. Discover house in a new light, set against the stunning backdrop of the palace’s elegant salon. Gustaf explores the piano’s rich nuances and tonal colors, with each chord forming part of an extraordinary musical journey.

Gustaf Henriksson is a pianist, arranger, and musical director who has performed at numerous concerts and events, as well as on major TV shows such as Skavlan, Alla tiders hits, Luciamorgon, and the summer favorite Allsång på Skansen. He has also played for millions of viewers as part of SVT’s Årets julvärd. In the fall of 2023, he continued his solo program, performing Coldplay’s music on the grand piano at Eric Ericson Hall.

Pop-up: The Age of Balls

Historical fashion comes to life once more! Drawing inspiration from 19th-century fashion, four contemporary creators have made four ball gowns. We invite you to the opening night with a fashion show, an evening live drawing session, a talk with one of the creators, Susanne Brouwer.
