Easter at the Hallwyl museum

Welcome to the Hallwyl Museum during Easter! We offer Easter holiday activities for the whole family – watch the puppet theater about Little Red Riding Hood and the wolf or participate in the palace's egg hunt. Additionally, the dining room is adorned with table sculptures and spring flowers signed by the artist Charlotte Birnbaum.

During Easter time, Charlotte Birnbaum presents new table sculptures in the dining room at the Hallwyl Museum. The table is filled with eggs, spring flowers, and hope for brighter times.

It's Easter, and somewhere in the Hallwyl Palace, there are hidden eggs. Can you find them all? Welcome to the egg hunt at the museum!

Recommended age approximately 5-10 years.

A dramatized play adventure that takes you on a journey back in time. The maid Anna needs help preparing the feast dinner but can't resist showing the children around.

Where's the Wolf? – Another Little Red Riding Hood (in Swedish)

Where's the Wolf? – Another Little Red Riding Hood" is an untamed one-man show in typical hand puppet tradition inspired by the popular English hand puppets "Punch and Judy" as well as the traditional traveling puppeteers who have been roaming from place to place in Europe since medieval times.

Family show recommended from age 4 and up.

Visiting Grandma's palace (in Swedish)

Join us on a discovery journey at home with Walther and Wilhelmina von Hallwyl and their servants. What was it like to live and work in Stockholm's most modern house 100 years ago, and what happened when the grandchildren came to visit? How were you expected to behave? Where were you allowed to play, and with whom? The tour is aimed at children accompanied by an adult/adults.

Recommended age from 6 years old.

Visit our playroom equipped with a kitchen, dining room, and smoking room, ready to be occupied by small-scale gentlemen and servants. It is free to visit the playroom.

A visit to the playroom is included in the entrance fee.

Just how did Wilhelmina and Walther von Hallwyl, Sweden’s richest couple, live a hundred years ago? And what about all those who worked in the palace, their servants? You will hear all about this in the recorded audio tour, which also explains how each room in the house was used. The family recorded audio tour is recommended from 6 years of age, but is suitable for any age.

  • Regular admission: SEK 120 (retirees and students)
  • Free admission for children and youth aged 0-18.

Information for your visit

  • Wardrobe: It is not allowed to bring jackets or bags into the museum. There are lockers in the museum entrance.
  • Food and beverages: It is not allowed to bring food and beverages into the museum.
  • Strollers: Due to safety reasons, strollers are not allowed inside the museum. The nearest place to secure strollers is at Norrmalmstorg.

The Hallwyl Museum has five floors, but unfortunately, no elevator. The only way around the museum is via stairs. The number of steps varies depending on where you want to go in the house. If you want to take a guided tour of the house, it means at least 103 steps up and down.
