A Glimpse Into a Preserved World

Step into one of Stockholm’s most captivating time capsules. In the late 19th century, the Hallwyl family created a home brimming with Wilhelmina’s extraordinary collections — a world that opened to the public as a museum in 1938. Discover the remarkable universe of a devoted collector, preserved exactly as she left it.

War of the corsets

The corset is one of the most controversial garments in the history of fashion. It has been worn for centuries, shaping women's bodies according to the ideals of different times. At the end of the 19th century, it came into particular focus, and a lively debate flared up in Sweden that came to be known as the corset war.

On view March 13–January 10, 2027.
