Exhibition - Tea party!
Signed Swedish ceramics of the 20th century
20 September 2019 - 9 February 2020
Staffan Bengtsson and Pia Staël von Holstein collects teapots. The pots are all designed during the 20th century – signed Swedish ceramics. The exhibition presents familiar forms as well as more experimental pieces that boarders to art.
Famous Swedish designers
With designers such as Signe Persson Melin, Stig Lindberg, Ulrica Hydman Vallien, Gösta Grähs and many more the collection gives an insight to the design history of Swedish modernism. The refined 50’s. The colourful pop art of the 60’s. A contemporary new simplicity with a certain sense of white…
The teapot has a special position. Few objects are placed in the centre of things but still rests out of focus. It is there during the formal tea party, the confiding conversations, and at the very first tentative cup of tea together late at night when our roads don’t seem to want to part. The exhibition will be displayed in the guest room at the top of the Hallwyl Museum between September 20, 2019 to February 9, 2020.
